Wrongful Death

Jamal v. Group Home -- Ten-year-old child placed in group home for therapy and counseling care. The child slapped wrist of attendant, who then laid his 215 pounds on top of the child's 90-lb. body for seven (7) minutes to 'restrain' the child's 'violent' behavior. The child died of asphyxia.
Star Athlete vs. Derelict Landlord -- Fine young man, college student, varsity athlete attended private fraternity-sorority party at an off campus night-club, renterd for event. Club property owned by "BigShot" and leased by "Lackey". BigShot and Lackey knew strip center where club was operated was a magnet for violent crime yet had pulled off earlier hired security details. Fraternity and Sorority were obligated by their national organizations to also provide security yet they had none at party. Anyone and everyone was admitted to party which evolved into a mob scene. Gang Members looking for criminal victims came in armed and later in evening, confronted and shot and killed Biggins' son. Wrongful Death suit filed against all noted above. Case settled in Private Mediation for significant confidential sum.
