Lowcountry Law Cats

Being near Shem Creek, we're a natural draw to stray cats. Most come and go and leave when the shrimp boats and fishermen unload. We been pretty diligent about trapping them and going through the spay/neuter, rabies vaccines and then releasing them again. The male cats are genuinely unfriendly after that little nip and tuck but the girl kitties seem to be very appreciative of the intervention.
After seven years in this location, we finally caught and domesticated two brothers, Bubba and Buddy - not very creative names but we just didn't put much thought into it thinking they would leave us as soon as the other. Buddy came to us so early that his need for bottle -feeding did hinder the business of law for about three weeks. The support staff liked to argue over whose turn it was to give him his bottle. Bubba came inside a couple of weeks later after seeing the great treatment his sibling got.
I know some folks aren't "cat people" and I respect that. Announce that prior to your appointment and we'll tuck them away in Andrea's office and pull out the lint brush before you arrive.
To no avail, we've been teaching them to answer the phones. However they have mastered the copy machine - you know they're "copy cats!" And they can read a "cat scan", so that helps out with medical records management.
These are some of my favorite animal rescue sites.
